A song I was inspired to write after watching some early (1920's) film footage on PBS of an aged and very regal man who had been born a slave. He was being interviewed and was asked what he thought when he realized he was born a slave in the southern United States. He turned, looked at the camera and said, " I always believed there would be a way of out this no way". That impacted me and I thought of the way so many people have felt when confronted with seemingly overwhelming circumstances.
